We invite young researchers to join the STER Summer School in Redox Processes with world-class international experts

We are delighted to invite PhD students and young researchers to the STER Summer School in Redox Processes which will take place at the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences (IPC PAS) in Warsaw, Poland, from 10th to 14th June 2024. This event aims to support young researchers and foster interdisciplinary collaborations, while familiarizing themselves with the latest topics in physical chemistry.

Thanks to funding from the NAWA - Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange agency, participation is free of charge.

As Redox Processes are ubiquitous in Physical Chemistry, each day of the school will be dedicated to a different topic: Nanoscale Charge Transfer, Photochemistry, Sensors, Catalysis, and Batteries / Energy storage.

Each day of the Summer School in Redox Processes will start with a tutorial lecture to allow participants better understand the topic even if it is outside of their immediate field of study. Renowned experts from the respective fields will give invited talks, confirmed speakers include:

• Prof. Wolfgang Schuhmann (Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Germany) - Catalysis.
• Prof. Elena Ferapontova (Aarhus Universitet, Denmark) - Sensors.
• Prof. Juan Antonio Anta (Universidad Pablo de Olavide, Spain) -Photochemistry.
• Prof. Kristina Tschulik (Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Germany) -Nanoscale Charge Transfer.
• Prof. Mario Krenn (Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light, Germany) -AI in science.

Apart from international guests, the program also covers lectures from prominent local speakers, student presentations and a poster session. The event will also be a chance to visit some of the laboratories of the IPC PAS.

Last but not least, on Thursday afternoon, after the lecture, of prof. Krenn, about using AI as an artificial muse, together with our invited guests, we will discuss which topics in physical chemistry might be essential fields of study in the future.

The school will include plenty of opportunities for integration, hopefully allowing new collaborations to form.
